The Union Rescue Mission Lives

Last year Darla went to the #SheDoes protest on Los Angeles’ City Hall Steps.

She said it was scary and it must be sad to have no money when the bank buildings are your night light.

I told her about my trip to @URM and meeting LaTonya and Sheila.

This was her reaction.

Right now they are building a new structure to house women and bring them off the streets. It is an expensive undertaking, but a worthy one. Drive down San Pedro street and see it rising above the wall. If you don’t want to drive down skid row, well, imagine you are an 8 year old girl with no choice but to sleep there. This is why we are thankful that the Union Rescue Mission lives.
