These are my notes for researching my first Grad School paper. This is sure to bore you.

3 basic resource information

demographic information –

popular sources that are as up to date as possible. try Census { http://www.census.gov/ }   and local Newspaper information. http //www.downtownlongbeach.org/civic-center

Scholarly – http://libguides.usc.edu/socialwork use the inter-library Loan to bypass paywalls to get to the full articles

community structure – city council

1 peer reviewed article

Look to see what research exists on your topic. check out the bibliography!

Newspaper article from a periodical

popular vs academic

Scholarly academic journal will have a bibliography

Popular sources ( like this here blog) or LA Times, etc will not have “work Cited” or “bibliography”

SCHOLARLY information has been vetted.
