Hashtag activism, “slack-tavism”, political bashing, and discussing issues beyond your backyard – why bother?

What happens elsewhere often happens here too.

What we fight elsewhere encourages protecting our way of life here.

It is important the we discuss and plan out our government.  We should constantly be a voice in it and directing the future of our country.

If you are afraid to lose your friends by discussing controversial topics – either don’t discuss anything, discuss it in private, or ditch friends who can’t respect your views.

It is not polite to chat about religion , income, or politics. However, currently these three items are coming out in our policies and news feeds and shaping our individual and cultural world view.
