Yesterday on my personal FB page I discussed drug testing for welfare recipients (it is a stupid and mean idea).
I was told that people are too lazy to get jobs and they abuse the system for drug money. "There would be fewer homeless in Los Angeles if people put down the pipe and picked up a wrench." The problem with this logic is that the jobs are not here.
Oh honey. Not all people are innovative and can create new companies and jobs. It would be super helpful to the American economy if the jobs stayed put.
Here is a little something from addictinginfo.com.
Outsourcing (or offshoring) is a bigger contributor to unemployment in the U.S. than laziness.
Since 2000, U.S. multinationals have cut 2.9 million jobs here while increasing employment overseas by 2.4 million. This is likely just the tip of the iceberg, as multinational corporations account for only about 20 percent of the labor force.
When was the last time you saw a front-page headline about outsourcing?"
