Each District Office will have a designated Eligibility and Homeless Case Manager worker as part of the D.A.T.. There will be teams on call who can travel to the shelters when clients can not go to the office. Families must call "211" to meet with the homeless family Solution Center.
Homeless clients can save money in a restricted account to pay for costs associated with securing permanent housing. Some shelters have a mandatory savings program. This money, if only spent for housing, is a Restricted Account.
The Calworks and GAIN homeless workers meet regularly to discuss the services available to residents of LA County receiving cash aid.
