Don’t Donate Food to Food Drives

Donate funds. #StopSummerHunser @MendPoverty #fbThe agency putting the food boxes together has a good feel of who their clients are and what their dietary needs and cooking facilities are.

Often a food drive co-ordinator will already have corporate sponcers donating non parioshable foods, but the food bank also needs cheeses, meats and milks that can spoil – as well as fresh fruits and veggies.

Give the Food Bank a chance to provide these items by supplying them with the funds. Also money is easy to track for deductions but cans of food are hard to list on your taxes.
