More employee-assistance calls seek housing aid

The key to ending homelessness is housing – and to pay for that you need a job. However, sometimes work and a paycheck are not enough to keep you housed. One of the perks of employment is “Employee Assistance” – usually three free therapy sessions per year and paid as a benefit to working.

Almost half the calls each year are questions about child care – without someone to watch the little ones, the adults can not go to work. This year the statistics have changed. The biggest crisis issue for employees is a need for housing.
