I NEED Community Service ideas

for low-income parents who will have child care and transportation already taken care of for them. I have a population of adults with education varying from GED’s in progress to Bachelor degrees. Many of them have Vocational Training in Medical Assisting and General Office.

The point of Community Service is to help my clients engage in the working world, even if they are not paid for it. I want them to get out, get the kids off to child care and establish a routine of mixing in with the rest of the adults in society.

Community service will help them

  • network
  • build working skills
  • practice the skills they do have
  • fill in resume gaps
  • prepare for mainstream employment

Some of my clients need to do this part-time in addition to the employment or education hours they are participating in.

If you have an opportunity or know of an excellent place that needs volunteers anywhere from 10 – 35 hours a week – around the Burbank/Glendale/Van Nuys areas PLEASE let me know!
