Toby’s House for pregnant women in crisis

Toby’s House is a maternity shelter for homeless, pregnant women and their children under the age of five years old.” near San Diego California.

Clients and their children (Under the age of 5) may stay for the first 30 days free while they look for work or enroll in school. Life skills classes such as cooking, budgeting, parenting, and JOB SEEKING skills are taught to the residents.

Sadly, the Toy Shop attached to the services recently closed due to a rent increase. The shelter and programs are run primarily on private donation.

Needs for our Moms and Babies
Clothing – Maternity clothes, work clothes, new under garments
Gift cards – Stater Bros, Trader Joes, Albertsons, Mervyn’s, Target, CVS Pharmacy, Walmart
Personal care items – full-sized shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, sanitary napkins, shaving razors, deodorant, brushes and hair bands, full-sized body lotion, cotton swabs
Baby Care – diapers, wipes, diaper rash cream, baby bath gel, baby powder, baby lotion, pacifiers, thermometers, teethers, baby clothing

Needs for our Shelters
Household Supplies – all purpose cleaner, laundry detergent, dish soap, trash bags, toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning sponges, dishwasher soap.

Non-perishable Food Items – canned soup, pasta, cereals, canned fruit and vegetables, canned or jarred juices, granola bars

Office Supplies – printer/copier paper, copier and printer ink (call for item#), pens, legal pads, tape, staples
