Congratulations on your employment!
Your DPSS worker can help you sustain your employment AND give you credit for the hours you are working – but only if you let them know. This is the basic information you should provide IN Writing. There is an actual official form, but until you can turn that in – give the following info to your worker.
-
Date you started working
-
Your job title
-
Company name and address
-
Number of hours you will be working per week – is it a fixed schedule or will the hours vary?
-
Hourly wage
-
Whether employment is temporary or permanent. If temporary, how long will the job last
-
The name, title, address, and telephone number of a contact person/HR/Manager at the company
-
Whether your employer provides health benefits
-
Whether your employer provides training and/ or promotional opportunities
-
Provide a copy of the dress code AND tell your worker if you need to buy clothes/supplies for work
-
Tell your Worker if you will be riding the bus, driving, walking, etc to work and if you need transportation funds.
-
If you are using Subsidized Child Care – be sure to report the employment to them as well.
