6601 Lankershim Blvd, North Hollywood, CA
:above Victory, near the Kiddie Day Care and in between Jack In the Box and Seven Eleven, across from the strip club, The Lair (BDSM club), and a car wash: is the now abandoned Coco’s where physical trash collects and overflows.
It’s gross! I went to pick up garbage there this evening because I live in the neighborhood and I deserve a morning walk that is grunge free. I had to stop when it occurred to me (it didn’t so much “occur to me” as I found evidence) that the homeless folks camped out there have toilet paper and nowhere to toilet or flush the used potty-paper.
They have been putting it in the tipped over ashtray/trash can combo on the sidewalk.
What I am saying, North Hollywood, Ca 91606, is that there is actual crap on your sidewalks near a preschool day care and between two food merchants.
(I would have thought both stores would have been helping to clean up their own trash and not let the corporate logos of 7/11 and “Jack in the Box” be associated with filth…but what do I know?)
Dear No Ho: find out who owns the land and force them to clean it up and encourage them to keep a dumpster there. I had no where to dump the trash I collected.
Sheftel 09, who ever you are and whatever you are running for: ummmm, rethink placing your yard signs in the middle of rubbish- or be invested in the community your sign says you are “of and for”.<br
I won’t vote for you unless you do so
1. Remove the signs (there are two)
2. Ensure there is no trash and dirty toilet paper blowing past the signage.
I could do a title search, but I am hoping enough people see this and forward it to the city council that I won’t have to.
I picked up the trash today. Don’t expect me to do your job again.
I already suggested that you create a community service sign up to do this kind of work for free in exchange for the CalWORKS (welfare) grants.
Oh, and to the homeless who live in the nooks of the building and in the parking lot. I saw you staring at me, just watching and staring. I said hello and I waved and NOT ONE of you showed the initiative to help me clean your living space. I understand homelessness, but I don’t understand five grown men just watching me clean up after them.
Fortunately, I didn’t do this for the homeless. Heck, I didn’t even do it for the city. I have a full time job and plenty of community service projects of my own. I did this for ME because I have to see it everyday and I believe I have to be the change I want to see. But, now I’m done. North Hollywood, you can get off your filth encrusted bottom and beautify someplace other than The No Ho Arts District!
